Training at McKern & Associates

The staff at McKern & Associates not only receive training from their respective tertiary institutions, the firm itself conducts in house training through programs devised to ensure that the staff are best equipped to serve your every need. Resources from beyond are used and streamlined into effective presentations and manuals for our staff to make sure that they are up to date with the latest rules and regulations and for administration, procedures in using machines and programs.

The training is split into the following:

In house training on accounting subjects
In house Cyntax training

In addition to this, McKern & Associates is a firm based on opportunity. Damien is not biased on CA vs CPA or Graduate vs Under Graduate. If a staff member possesses the right qualities to fit in the team, regardless of qualification, then that person is hired. McKern & Associates is a Chartered firm as Damien is a Chartered Accountant, however all staff are encouraged to follow the career path that they wish to. Same goes for graduate vs under graduate accountants. We accept many applicants and have many staff who still attend University 2-4 days a week. Generous study leave and rewards are offered to these staff members who are still attending University to encourage these members to continue at the firm, long after they are degree qualified. 

                                      


 In House training

The In house training syllabus has been in place now for the past 2 years and is covered by many subjects. Subjects vary from basic taxation to public speaking to complex matters such as BSA licencing requirements. Administration staff members are trained areas such as phone etiquette to simple tasks such as filing right through to setting up companies and trusts. The list for training is far and wide and not only do the staff gain experience through learning, the senior staff members gain experience in public speaking and teaching. 


 Cyntax Training

Every month, our senior staff members are attending training prepared by leaders in the field at Cyntax. They are trained on various subjects at the senior level. This training which in turn, provides a great and useful tool for our senior staff is then syphened down to our junior staff members for application in their day to day work. Again, this is another opportunity for our senior staff to teach and is another avenue of learning that our firm goes through.
